Photographic simulation of pre&postoperative rhinoplasty

Technology, like in many other medical fields, has become a useful alley in the field of preoperative Rhinoplasty.

The surgeon has two goals while remodelling the nose:  fulfil the patient wishes, which clearly is the main one, and also respect as much as possible the aesthetic harmony of the face. If both of these goals are accomplished the best result is achieved.

Once identified, the pt’s  aesthetic desires can be artificially represented on a computer screen by software manipulation of preoperative pictures.

In other words,  these targets can be filtered through a computer based photographic simulation of the patient’s nose in order to identify  the best aesthetic solution that will be then used as a guidance throughout the surgery.

It is quite important to understand that a perfect surgical reproduction of the manipulated pictures is not possible.
